Applications used:
Figma, Adobe Illustrator
A selfless, service-driven team committed to fostering discovery and building connections within their communities. Together with the IPNO (Ismaili Professional Network Online) team, I helped create an application that enhances discoverability, searchability, and awareness.
Initially, the website had a search function that enabled me to find fellow Ismaili mentors and connections, but it had minimal accuracy regarding title and company. Further, this constrains users from leading potential connections via third-party applications. Thus, it leads us to the pursuit of pitching the UX audit. The main goal of the audit is to encourage exploration, mentorship, information, and future opportunities.
Phase II
Due to our shift in approach and ideology, our focus needs to be on creating a mobile application that is both accurate and functional. Everything needs to be optimized for discovery and download in mobile app stores, changing our persona to a younger target audience (Figure 1.0). With this shift, implementing a calendar and scheduling functionality while upholding the discovery aspect of the original would be deemed crucial. If you reflect on (Figure 1.1), the user flow showcases the navigation tree and how the application is navigated.
Phase ΙII
Splash/Login/Home
The original home screen focused on the profile and segmented the search function under its navigation. As I brainstormed, pitching the idea of implementing the search bar on every screen became more feasible and functional. Additionally, adding the search bar would increase the time spent on the app and encourage discoverability, especially on the home screen, enabling more capability of transitioning into an uploading and posting forum like Reddit and LinkedIn. Speaking of LinkedIn our user needs to be compatible with a sign-in option on the log-in page increasing our capability to the application (Figure 1.1).
Summit Events and hows it different
Summit Events is an annual occurrence that encompasses smaller, briefer events. Reflected in the high-fidelity wireframe introduced a fourth navigation option (Figure 1.2).
Through testing, I noticed that hosting summit events as a separate page led to decision fatigue. Leading to the removal of the navigation tab altogether. Deciding to implement a Summit widget in the home screen leading to a vibrant page designed by the team with the about, location, attendees, and contact information (Figure 1.2). For the rest of the details, we want to include event details, speaker information, a sign-up button, a QR code, and messaging (Figure 1.3).
Toggle/ My Hub
As for the MyHub page, users can edit and remove occasions they registered for, similar to event platforms like Slack, Teams, and Zoom (Figure 1.4). In this redesign, I want to focus on creating the My Hub screen where users can locate the past events they attended and the friends/connections they made throughout the product. I want to prioritize connectivity within all teams of IPN the app necessary for all information for upcoming events through mentorship and networking across all industries.
Phase IV
Community engagement starts from the ground up. Starting the foundation aspect first will increase user traffic and encourage community networking leading to an increase in opportunities and visibility. However, to do so, we must first identify the core issues in auditing, interviewing, designing, and leveraging the original designs in hopes that the last product goals are achieved and leveraged.
