A platform where convivence meets affordability

Glass TV is a concept project inspired by my love for film and interest in how technology can improve everyday experiences. The goal was to simplify how people discover, manage, and enjoy content across multiple streaming platforms.
Streaming fatigue is real. Users often forget which platform hosts the show or movie they want, leading to frustration and time spent switching between apps.
Research showed that content discovery is one of streaming’s biggest challenges, with many users feeling overwhelmed by too many choices. This insight led to the core idea behind Glass TV: one place to discover content without jumping between platforms.

Discovery

Phase II

Define

Glass TV centers the experience around the user, not individual streaming services. Based on our primary persona, a tech-savvy millennial overwhelmed by choice, the product focuses on reducing search fatigue and surfacing content users actually want to watch.
The solution allows users to connect multiple streaming services under one account, automatically syncing watch history to create personalized recommendations.

Key features include:

  • Personalized recommendations based on viewing behavior
  • A unified account to manage all streaming services
  • A “Surprise Me” feature for effortless discovery

Account Setup

Unlike many competitors that act as mere hosting platforms, GlassTV centers the experience around the user. As shown in the process map (F1.1), the journey begins with account selection, allowing users to connect their apps through a single email.
For example, if your Netflix account uses johndoe1234@gmail.com, GlassTV automatically syncs your recently watched content across all connected platforms.

Phase ΙII

Navigation Tree

Glass TV was designed to simplify both content discovery and subscription management. The navigation is organized into four clear sections:

  • For You: Personalized recommendations and recently watched content
  • Marketplace: Download streaming apps and purchase movies or shows
  • My Purchases: View subscriptions, track billing, and manage renewals
  • Settings: Control devices and user preferences

To further reduce friction, I designed:

  • A notification system to alert users about subscription changes or expiring plans
  • The ability to minimize content and return to the last viewed show seamlessly
  • Social sign-in options (Google, Apple, Facebook) for fast onboarding

A Deeper Look

Notifications will be segmented into three tiers red means urgent and yellow would need attention (F1.3). As we dive deeper into the product, users can see the option to minimize shows/movies to the bottom right of the screen, enabling a seamless viewing experience with the last interacted program. You’re probably wondering how you sign up. Easy! We enabled a signup feature through your favorite social devices like Facebook, Google, and Apple.

Conclusion

Glass TV reimagines the streaming experience by tackling key pain points: content discovery, subscription overload, and fragmented platforms. By focusing on user needs and personalization, the concept highlights how streaming could feel simpler, smarter, and more enjoyable in a growing direct-to-consumer market.
